After our wonderful date the other day, I couldn't wait to invite Kathleen out again. So the next day, I called her and asked her out to the pool. She didn't seem to mind my eagerness. I chose the pool as our date location mostly because I love swimming, but I can't deny that a little bit of me wanted to see Kathleen in a bikini. It was not disappointing, she's got a great body.
We talked a while, I suggested a romantic mini break, but she has a fear of flying and I get terrible car sickness so we abandoned that idea and hopped into the barely warm pool. We swam and splashed flirtatiously for a couple of hours, giggling almost non-stop. It was all going so well until I got a phone call from work asking me to cover for a guy who'd called in sick.
"I've got to go in to work Kath, a guy's called in sick. I'm so sorry, I've been having an amazing time."
"Me too." Her voice was so beautiful. "I'll still be here when you get back." She said it so slowly and winked at the same time.
I'm sure I flushed and a smile crept across my lips. She splashed me teasingly. "I don't think I can tear myself away from you, you gorgeous beast."
"Go!" She encouraged. "I promise I'll be here, when you're done."

And so I went across the road to work. I scanned books and made recommendations to customers all afternoon, but my heart wasn't in it. My mind kept drifting elsewhere and the hours dragged as I thought of Kathleen across the road in her skimpy swimwear. I was out of that door and back at the pool within minutes of the shop shutting. As promised, Kathleen was there to greet me.
There was no one else at the pool and Kathleen and I made the most of it. We made out by the grotty poolside and stargazed on the wet tiles. It was far from a romantic venue but we made the best of it. She never changed out of that bikini even when she was shivering ad her lips turned blue. We snuggled up close and I wrapped her in my jacket. It couldn't have been more perfect.
When Kathleen got up and headed for the toilets, I tucked my hand into my pocket and came across a small velvet box. I remembered Dad giving it to me on my birthday to use when the time was right. And as my hand came across it, my mind was made up. That time was now. I followed Kathleen and as she came out of the cubicle I got down on one knee.
And so I proposed to Kathleen Costello, my childhood sweetheart, in a toilet block at the local pool. At the time, I didn't even notice the surroundings, all I could see was Kathleen. She took a step back and just nodded her head. She was too shocked to speak and she held out her hand for me to slip on the ring. And so I was engaged. We embraced and kissed and then Kathleen took my hand and led me to the showers.
"You can take this bikini off of me if you like." She purred, and I wasted no time in doing so.
